On Monday, February 12, 2024, the day of remembrance of the ecumenical teachers and Saints Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian and John Chrysostom, celebrations took place in Paris on the occasion of the patronal feast of the historical cathedral church of the Western European Exarchate - the Three Hierarchs Parisian Metochion on Petel Street.The Divine Liturgy on this day in the cathedral church of the diocese was celebrated by the Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun and Western Europe.
Concelebrating with the Most Reverend Vladyka were the bishops of the Western European Exarchate, who arrived in Paris to participate in the meeting of the Synod of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Western Europe: Archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium, Archbishop Elisey of The Hague and the Netherlands, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Bishop Ambrose of Bogorodsk, Vicar of the Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, Bishop Peter of Kafa, vicar of the Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, as well as Bishop Simeon of Domodedovo, vicar of the Archdiocese of Western European parishes of the Russian tradition.
The divine service was also attended by Rector of the church, Archpriest Nikolai Rebinder, Secretary of the Korsun diocese, Priest Maxim Politov, Dean of the parishes of the diocese in Switzerland, Archimandrite Martin (de Caflisch), clergy of the Holy Trinity Church, and guests of the church in holy orders.
The choir of the Three Hierarchs Church under the direction of A. Rebinder sang during the Liturgy.
The divine service was celebrated in Church Slavonic and French.
During the first antiphon, the Patriarchal Exarch consecrated the treasurer and member of the parish council of the church, reader Bertrand Legendre, as subdeacon.
After singing “It is truly meet,” subdeacon Bertrand Legendre was ordained deacon.
Following the prayer behind the ambo, Metropolitan Nestor, concelebrating Archpastors and clergy performed the rite of glorification to the heavenly patron. Saints of the church.
Then the Patriarchal Exarch addressed those gathered in the church with an archpastoral speech, in which, in particular, he warmly greeted his fellow bishops and congratulated the Rector, clergy and parishioners of the church on the patronal feast day, and also warmly bid farewell to the newly ordained deacon Bertrand, who will henceforth perform his diaconal ministry in the Holy Trinity Church in Paris.
Then, in fulfillment of the Patriarchal blessing, Metropolitan Nestor presented Bishop Simeon of Domodedovo with the Order of St. Seraphim of Sarov, II degree.
At the end of the celebrations, hierarchs, clergy and laity shared a festive meal.
