« Metropolitan Nestor and Bishop Matthew celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Paris »

On February 11, 2024, on the 36th week after Pentecost, the Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun and Western Europe, and Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Life-Giving Trinity Cathedral in Paris.
Concelebrating with the archpastors were Secretary of the Korsun Diocese Priest Maxim Politov, Archimandrite Martin (de Caflisch), Abbot of the Holy Trinity Monastery in Dompierre (Switzerland), Archimandrite Varlaam (Burnos), Archpriest Valentin Palyukh, Cathedral clergy - Archpriest Igor Trofim, Priest John Dimitrov, Priest Georgy Sheshko, Hieromonk Irenei (Gribov), Priest Anthony Sidenko, Protodeacon Nikolai Rebinder and Hierodeacon Dionysius (Volkov).
The divine service was celebrated in Church Slavonic and French.
The hierarchical choir under the direction of Marina Politova sang at the Liturgy.
During the reading of the sixth hour, Metropolitan Nestor performed the ordination to subdeacon of Euphrasius Desanlis, Reader and altar servant of the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
At the small entrance, in recognition of his work for the good of the Holy Church and in connection with his 40th birthday, the Patriarchal Exarch awarded Priest Anthony Sidenko the right to wear a golden pectoral cross.
After the augmented litany, Metropolitan Nestor offered prayers for the restoration of peace in Ukraine.
Then the Archpastor ordained subdeacon Euphrasius Desanlis to the deacon.
The sermon before the communion of the laity was delivered by Priest Ioann Dimitrov.
After the dismissal of the Liturgy, the Patriarchal Exarch warmly greeted Vladyka Matthew, addressed those gathered in the church with archpastoral word on the topic of the Sunday Gospel reading, and also greeted the newly ordained deacon and awarded cleric.
In response, the Administrator of the Sourozh Diocese thanked Metropolitan Nestor for the warm welcome and the opportunity for joint congregational prayer in the main church of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Western Europe.
