On August 1, 2021, on the 6th Sunday after Pentecost, the day of remembrance of the Holy Fathers of six Ecumenical Councils, the feast of the uncovering of the relics of Venerable Seraphim of Sarov, miracle worker (1903), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh paid an archpastoral visit to the St. Seraphim Orthodox Youth Camp of the Sourozh diocese and celebrated the Divine Liturgy there.
His Grace was assisted by archpriest Stephen Platt, Dean of the Diocesan Region of Central England, Rector of St. Nicholas Church in Oxford, and deacon Alexy Kostyanovsky.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the children's and youth choir conducted by Anna Platt.
At the small entrance, in consideration of the diligent pastoral work and by the recommendation of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, archpriest Stephen Platt was awarded the Patriarchal liturgical award of the Russian Orthodox Church - the right to wear a pectoral cross with decorations.
After the divine service, Vladyka Matthew got acquainted in detail with the peculiarities of the camp, activities of children in various groups, living conditions, and talked with mentors and camp participants.
