« His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh took part in the opening of sports competitions in the diocesan children's camp »

On August 1, 2021, on the feast of the uncovering of the relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov, after the Divine Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh took part in the opening of sports competitions in the St. Seraphim Orthodox Youth Camp of the Sourozh diocese.

After Vladyka Matthew addressed the participants, organizers and mentors, a symbolic fire was lit in the center of the camp, which will burn during the sports games.  Vladyka wished all those present God's help in active recreation, gaining strength and good health, while noting, as a priority, the necesdity of spiritual growth and strengthening of faith.

Vadim Polishchuk, subdeacon of the Dormition Cathedral in London and the European champion in free kickboxing (Free Style Full Contact), accompanied Vladyka on the trip and gave a master class for the young participants of the camp.

After the completion of the sporting events, His Grace Vladyka returned to London.
