« Dean of the Diocesan District of Wales elevated to the rank of Archimandrite »

On May 29, 2025, on the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, at the Little Entrance during the Divine Liturgy in the Dormition Cathedral in London, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh elevated the Dean of the Diocesan District of Wales, Hegumen Deiniol (Davies), to the rank of Archimandrite.

Ordained in 1979 to the rank of hieromonk by Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom), Father Deiniol was honoured with great attention by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' in recognition of his zealous pastoral and missionary work and in connection with the 75th anniversary of his birth.
