On July 23, 2019, on the feast day of St. Anthony of Pechersk and Kiev, head of all Russian monks, the patron saint of Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom), the founder of the Diocese of Sourozh, the Right Reverend Bishop Matthew of Sourozh served a memorial lithia in the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.
His Grace was assisted by Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, and Priest Victor Akhryapin.
After the memorial service, Bishop Matthew addressed the clergy and parishioners with words of a sermon, highlighting the invaluable archpastoral contribution of Metropolitan Anthony to the affirmation of Orthodoxy in the British Isles and to the spiritual education of entire generations of Christians in many countries around the world.
