« The new London office of "Rossotrudnichestvo" was blessed »

On June 11th, the rite of blessing was held at recently opened London office of "Rossotrudnichestvo" (RosCooperation). The service was celebrated by Archbishop Mark of Yegorievsk, Head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Administration for Foreign Institutions and by Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh. The ceremony was attended by the directors of the "Rossotrudnichestvo" branch in London, representatives of the Russian Embassy and members of the Russian Community Council. 

Following the blessing and sprinkling of the office with holy water, both Archbishop Mark and Archbishop Elisey joined the scheduled meeting of the Russian Community Council. Archpriest Mikhail Dudko, representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in the World Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots, introduced the honoured guests to the members of the organization.

Ways to strengthen new and existing ties were discussed along with the possibility of setting up various partnership projects to improve support both on local and international level for Russians living abroad. One of the things achieved at the meeting was the preliminary approval for the foreign istitutions of the Russian Orthodox Church to take a bigger role in the initiative of Russian compatriots living in Great Britain to make Russian an official language of the European Union.
