On August 4, 2026, a prayerful commemoration was held at Dormition Cathedral in London to mark the 23rd anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom), founder of the Diocese of Sourozh.
The divine service was led by His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh and His Grace Bishop Nektarios of London, Great Britain, and Ireland (Serbian Orthodox Church).
Their Graces were assisted by Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh; Priest Borislav Kovačević, Secretary of the Diocese of Great Britain and Ireland (Serbian Orthodox Church); and clergy of the Diocese of Sourozh. The deacon's rank was led by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral in London, under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
At the litany for the departed, prayers were offered for the ever-memorable Metropolitan Anthony.
Following the dismissal of the Liturgy, the Archpastors and concelebrating clergy celebrated the litia for the founder of the Diocese of Sourozh in the center of the church.
Finally, Bishop Matthew addressed the clergy and faithful present at the divine service with words of sermon and spiritual edification, emphasising the importance of Metropolitan Anthony's work in building and developing the life of the communities of the Russian Orthodox Church in the British Isles.
Bishop Matthew warmly thanked His Grace Bishop Nektarios of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the opportunity to share this important event for the Diocese of Sourozh, as well as the clergy and laity who came from Wales, Northern Ireland, and various cities in England to attend the commemorative celebrations, noting the need to preserve the memory and spiritual legacy of Metropolitan Anthony.
