On August 3, 2026, on the eve of the 23rd anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom), founder of the Sourozh Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church in the British Isles, an evening service was held at Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh led the reading of the 17th Kathisma at Matins. His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh Archpriest Dmitry Nedostupenko, Archpriest Nikita Kozlov, Head of the Diocesan Pilgrimage Department Priest Anatoly Vikhrov, Priest Viktor Akhryapin, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, and Deacon Nikolai Makarov.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral in London under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
At the 6th ode of the canon, a requiem litany for the ever-memorable Metropolitan Anthony was celebrated, and the prayer "With the saints give rest" was sung.
On August 4, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh and His Grace Bishop Nektarios of London, Great Britain, and Ireland (Serbian Orthodox Church) will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
A panikhida will be held at 2:00 PM at Brompton Cemetery at the grave of Metropolitan Anthony.
