On February 7, 2026, on the eve of the patronal feast of the parish of St. Ephraim the Syrian in Cambridge, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of Southwest England and Rector of the Parish of St. Ephraim the Syrian; Priest Evgeny Selensky, Dean of the Diocesan District of East Anglia; Priest Spasimir Ivanov (ROCOR); Deacon Kosmas Fratyanu; and Deacon Nektariy Baska.
The parish choir, under the direction of Anna Pechenyuk, performed the liturgical hymns.
Following the prayer after the communion, His Grace and the concelebrating clergy performed a glorification before the icon of St. Ephraim the Syrian.
At the conclusion of the service, Archpriest Joseph Skinner, the church's Rector, addressed Bishop Matthew with greetings and gratitude for his Archpastor visit.
In response, Bishop Matthew congratulated the clergy and parishioners on their patronal feast and delivered a sermon.
In memory of his visit, Bishop Matthew presented the church with an altar Gospel in English, published by the Moscow Patriarchate Publishing House with the participation of the Diocese of Sourozh.
Icons were distributed to all those present.
The clergy and parishioners continued their fellowship over a shared meal.
