Bishop Matthew of Sourozh participated in the patronal celebrations of the Three Hierarchs Metochion in Paris »

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, the feast day of the Ecumenical Teachers and Saints Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom, celebrations were held in Paris to mark the patronal feast and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the historic cathedral of the Western European Exarchate – the Paris Three Hierarchs Metochion on Rue des Petilles.
Metropolitan Mark of Ryazan and Mikhailovsky, Administrator of the Western European Exarchate and the Korsun Diocese, celebrated the Divine Liturgy on this day in the diocesan cathedral.
His Eminence was assisted by bishops of the Western European Exarchate, who had arrived in Paris to participate in the meeting of the Synod of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Western Europe: Archbishop Elisey of The Hague and the Netherlands, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Bishop Ambrosius of Bogorodsk, Vicar of the Patriarchal Exarchate for Western Europe, and Bishop Peter of Kaffa, Vicar of the Patriarchal Exarchate for Western Europe.
Also participating in the service were Archpriest Nikolai Rebinder, rector of the church; Priest Maxim Politov, secretary of the Korsun Diocesan Administration; Archimandrite Martin (de Caflisch), dean of the parishes of the diocese in Switzerland; clergy of the Church of the Three Hierarchs; and visiting priests.
The parish choir of the Church of the Three Hierarchs under the direction of Reader A. Rebinder sang during the Liturgy Following the prayer after the communion, Metropolitan Mark and the bishops and clergy who served with him performed the rite of glorification of the church's patron saints.
Then, the Administrator of the Western European Exarchate addressed those gathered in the church with an archpastoral sermon, in which he congratulated the rector, clergy, and parishioners on the church's patronal feast and spoke about the lives and deeds of the saints being honoured.
At the conclusion of the celebrations, the hierarchs, clergy, and laity shared a festive meal.
