On January 17, 2026, the Saturday before Epiphany, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Parish of the icon of Jerusalem Mother of God in Brighton.

At the entrance to the church, His Grace was greeted by Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Sourozh diocese, along with parish warden Ekaterina Koshkina and young parishioners who offered him bread, salt, and flowers.

His Grace was assisted at the Divine Liturgy by Archpriest Vitaly Polischuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England and the parish Rector; Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh; and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, cleric of the Dormition Cathedral.

The parish choir, directed by Alexandra Livchak, performed the liturgical hymns.

During the communion verse, Bishop Matthew awarded altar server Vadim Koshkin the right to wear the orarion.

Following the prayer after the communion, the Archpastor performed the rite of the Great Blessing of Water.

At the conclusion of the divine service, Bishop Matthew congratulated the faithful on Christmas festival and the upcoming feast of the Epiphany and addressed the parishioners with a word of spiritual edification. Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch provided simultaneous translation into English.

As a memento of his visit, the hierarch donated a new edition of the lectern-style service book to the parish.

The Archpastor, clergy, and laity continued their conversation over a shared meal.
