On January 14, 2026, the Feast of the Circumcision of the Lord and the feast day of St. Basil the Great, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky; Archpriest Vitaly Polischuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England; Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh; Archpriest Nikita Kozlov; Priest Vasily Gandzyuk; Priest Alexander Kapustin; and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the Dormition Cathedral Choir under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
Following the prayer behind the ambo, a prayerful magnification was sung before the icon of St. Basil the Great.
Following the dismissal of the Liturgy, Bishop Matthew addressed the clergy and parishioners with words of sermon and spiritual edification. Simultaneous translation into English was provided by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
His Grace Vladyka warmly congratulated Priest Alexander Kapustin on the first anniversary of his priestly ministry and Priest Vasily Gandzyuk on his name day, presenting them with new editions of the Book of Needs.
