On October 28, 2025, the feast day of Saint Athanasius the Confessor, Bishop of Kovrov (+1962), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh prayed and received Holy Communion during the Divine Liturgy in Dormition Cathedral in London.
The Liturgy was celebrated by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, assisted by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
The cathedral chamber choir, directed by Dmitry Tugariknov, performed the liturgical hymns.
During the service, Bishop Matthew distributed Holy Communion to the parishioners who attended the service at the cathedral that day.
Following the prayer after the communion, the Archpastor and clergy performed a prayerful hymn before the church icon of St. Athanasius, a holy confessor, liturgist, and author of "The Service to All Saints Who Shone Forth in the Russian Lands."
Finally, Bishop Matthew addressed those present with words of sermon and spiritual edification.
