Following the Decree by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia entrusting Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh with the archpastoral administration of the stavropegic parish in Dublin, Vladyka visited Dublin in his new capacity.

The vessel has been repaired through the efforts of a team of Russian shipwrights. HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia, S.E. Naryshkin, and veterans of the Arctic convoys attended the ceremony.

On 6th October, at the ordinary session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, it was resolved to assign Priest George Zavershinsky, employee of the Department for the External Church Relations, to the Diocese of Sourozh in order to provide pastoral service in Scotland and to assign Priest Nikolai Evseev, cleric of the Patriarchal metochion in Dublin, to the Diocese of Sourozh in order to provide pastoral care for the parishes of the Irish Deanery

On 17th September, the Heads of the Roman Catholic and Anglican Churches took part in the evening service at Westminster Abbey dedicated to the visit of Pope Benedict XVI. Archbishop Elisey and some members of the Diocese of Sourozh attended the service among other representatives of Cristian Communities of Great Britain.
On 11th September, day of commemoration of the Beheading of St John the Baptist, at the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God in London, the Divine Liturgy was concelebrated by almost all the clergy of the Diocese of Sourozh who complete their pastoral service in the territory of the United Kingdom and Ireland.
