On the evening of August 9, 2025, on the eve of the 9th Sunday after Pentecost, the celebration of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God and the Synaxis of Saints of the Tambov Metropolitanate, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the all-night vigil at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England Archpriest Vitaly Polischuk, Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and Protodeacon Ioann Sylnik.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
During the polyeleos, a reliquary with great Christian relics was brought out from the altar to the center of the church - a particle of the Life-giving Cross of the Lord, the belt of the Most Holy Theotokos and particles of the holy relics of the chosen saints of God.
At matins, after the reading of the Gospel, Bishop Matthew anointed the clergy and worshipers with consecrated oil.
