« Parish School of the Dormition Cathedral in London celebrated the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture »

On May 17, 2025, in anticipation of the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture, festive events were held at the Parish School of the Holy Martyr Grand Duchess Elizabeth at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
Every year, in the second half of May, the school holds thematic lessons, students perform a final Easter concert, which is attended with great pleasure and interest by the students' parents and parishioners of the cathedral.
The main theme of this ending academic year was the study of the life and deeds of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus', the 100th anniversary of whose death in 2025 is celebrated by the entire Russian Orthodox Church.  Throughout the year, the children learned about the life of the saint, created illustrations based on the most memorable events in his life, and explored the nature and culture of the North American continent, where Saint Tikhon served as a bishop from 1898, and as archbishop of the Aleutian Islands and North America from 1905. 
Before the start of the festive performance, the school's spiritual father, Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, congratulated teachers, students, and parents on the ongoing Easter days and briefly spoke about the veneration of Saint Tikhon. 
Then there was an Easter concert, in which students from grades 0-1, junior and senior choirs of the school performed - musical director M.V. Bezmenova-Nikolau.

Every year in the second half of May, the school holds thematic lessons, students perform a final Easter concert, which is attended with great pleasure and interest by the students' parents and parishioners of the cathedral.

The second part of the festive program included the premiere of a cartoon created for the 100th anniversary of the repose of St.  Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' , by students and teachers of the cathedral's parish school.
