« Reliquary containing piece of relics of St. Patriarch Tikhon arrives in St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York City »

On April 6, 2025, on the 100th anniversary of the repose of Saint Tikhon the Confessor, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', a reliquary containing a particle of the saint's holy relics arrived in St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City.

On Sunday afternoon, during the Little Vespers, the reliquary was brought out of the altar to the center of the church, after which the Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA & Canada, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, and cathedral clergy read the Akathist to Saint Tikhon.

At the end of the service, the archpastor read out the Patriarchal address on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the blessed repose of Saint Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.

The reliquary with a particle of the holy relics of Patriarch Tikhon will visit many parishes of the Russian and other Orthodox Churches in the USA during the jubilee year, after which it will be transferred as a gift from His Holiness Patriarch Kyrill to St. Tikhon Church in Cambridge (Canadian Diocese of the Russian Church Abroad).
