« On Radonitsa, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh served a panikhida at the grave of Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom) »

On April 29, 2025, on the day of Radonitsa, after the Divine Liturgy in the Dormition Cathedral in London, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh and the cathedral clergy served a panikhida at the grave of the ever-memorable founder of the Sourozh Diocese, Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom), at the Old Brompton Cemetery in London.
The funeral hymns were performed by the cathedral chamber choir under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
The parishioners of the cathedral, spiritual children and admirers of Metropolitan Anthony prayed at the panikhida.
After the panikhida, the Right Reverend Archpastor laid flowers on the grave of Metropolitan Anthony and addressed those present with an edifying word, the translation into English was done by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
Bishop Matthew noted in particular that "we were all very much looking forward to the opportunity to share the Easter joy with the ever-memorable Metropolitan Anthony, who is dear and close to all of us, who put forth many labours for the creation of the Diocese of Sourozh and, today, thanks to the feast of Radonitsa, this Easter day has arrived. It is important for all of us to say these joyful words of greeting personally to Metropolitan Anthony and all his relatives who rest here, to all Christians buried in this ancient cemetery - Christ is Risen, and in response to hear within ourselves the answer - He is Risen Indeed!"
