On July 7, 2024, on the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost, the day of remembrance of All Saints who shone forth in the Russian land, the feast of the Nativity of the glorious Prophet John, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
Concelebrating with His Grace were Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the diocesan district of South-East England, clergy of the UOC temporarily staying in the Sourozh diocese, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, Protodeacon Ioan Sîlnic and Deacon Alexander Kapustin.
Liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
After the augmented litany, the Right Reverend Vladyka proclaimed a prayer for the granting of peace.
Following the prayer behind the ambo, Bishop Matthew and the concelebrating clergy sung magnification to the feast.
In conclusion, the Archpastor addressed those present with words of sermon and spiritual edification.  Simultaneous translation into English was provided by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
