« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh made an archpastoral visit to the parish of the Jerusalem icon of the Mother of God in Brighton »

On March 2, 2024, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh visited the parish in honour of the Jerusalem Icon of the Mother of God in Brighton.
During the Divine Liturgy, His Grace was assisted by the Dean of the diocesan district of South-East England, Rector of the parish, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Secretary of the Sourozh diocese, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, and the cleric of the Dormition Cathedral in London, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
The liturgical chants were performed by a combined chamber choir under the direction of Irina Klimenko.
At the end of the Liturgy, Rector of the community, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, addressed Vladyka with a welcoming speech. Father Vitaly, on behalf of the parishioners, cordially thanked Vladyka Matthew for the long-awaited visit and presented a bouquet of flowers. In turn, the Archpastor expressed hope for more frequent visits for joint prayer with the Orthodox believers of Brighton and its environs and addressed the clergy and parishioners with words of spiritual edification.
The divine service was followed by a common meal organized by the parish activists.
