On August 19, 2023, on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.

His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, clergy of the UOC, temporarily residing on the territory of the Diocese of Sourozh, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and Deacon Ion Silnic.

Liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.

Before the beginning of the Liturgy, an ark with great Christian relics (a particle of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the belt of the Most Holy Mother of God and particles of the holy relics of the chosen saints of God) was carried from the altar to the middle of the Cathedral.

During the communion verse Vladyka Matthew honoured Mikhail Lastovsky, for his diligent church service, with the right to wear an orarion, and Stefan Maksimov was blessed to serve his altar obedience in stilkhar.

Following the prayer beyond the ambo, His Grace Vladyka consecrated the fruits of the new harvest and performed prayerful glorification in front of the icon of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

At the end of the divine service, the Archpastor addressed those gathered in the Cathedral on the feast day with words of sermon and spiritual edification. Simultaneous translation into English was provided by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
