On July 6, 2023, on the eve of the feast of the Nativity of the glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated an all-night vigil at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South West England Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Priest Vasily Gandzyuk, and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
Liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
Before the start of the all-night vigil, the permanent parishioners donated to the cathedral an icon of the righteous Empress Theodora, painted by order on Corfu.
During the service, His Grace Vladyka honored the altar server and prosphora baker of the Cathedral, Vyacheslav Gavrilov, with the right to wear a cassock.
At Matins, after reading the Gospel, Vladyka Matthew anointed the clergy and parishioners with consecrated oil.
