« On the feast of the Ascension of the Lord, a festive Liturgy was celebrated at the Dormition Cathedral »

On May 25, 2023, on the feast of the Ascension of the Lord, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Dormition Cathedral in London. With the blessing of the Rector of the church, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, the divine service was led by the Secretary of the Sourozh diocese, sacristan of the Cathedral, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko. His Reverence was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Priest Vasily Gandzyuk, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, and Deacon Viktor Nikiforov.

Liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.

After the augmented litany, Fr Dimitry proclaimed a prayer for the granting of peace.

After the dismissal of the Liturgy, the clergy performed glorification of the Ascension of the Lord.  After that, Archpriest Dimitry addressed the parishioners with a sermon on the theme of the feast. Simultaneous translation into English was provided by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
