On March 20, 2023, on the eve of the Day of Remembrance of the 40 Martyrs of Sebaste, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated an evening service at the Dormition Cathedral in London.According to the church charter, this day is postponed from Wednesday, March 9 (22), a polyeleic service in honor of the 40 martyrs who suffered in the Sebaste Lake.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of the Republic of Ireland Archpriest Mikhail Nasonov, Dean of the Diocesan District of South West England Archpriest Joseph Skinner and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the chamber choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
During the Canon of Matins, His Grace Archpastor performed the rite of tonsure as a reader and subdeacon ordination of Cosmin Frateanu.
