« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh paid an archpastoral visit to the parish of St. Luke at Tunbridge Wells »

On November 11, 2023, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
At the entrance to the church, the Archpastor was met with bread and salt by the parish churchwarden, Dennis Flower, and the young parishioners presented Vladyka Matthew with flowers.
During the Liturgy, His Grace was assisted by the Dean of the diocesan district of South-East England, Rector of the parish, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Secretary of the Sourozh diocese, Archpriest Dimitry Nestoupenko, and the cleric of the Dormition Cathedral in London, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
Following the prayer behind the ambo, Vladyka and the concelebrating clergy performed prayerful glorification in front of the icon of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke, after which the Rector of the community, Rev. Vitaly Polishchuk turned to Vladyka Matthew with words of gratitude and expressed gratitude for the visit and for the joy of joint prayer with his Archpastor.
In turn, Vladyka Matthew congratulated the parishioners of the community on the recently held patronal celebration, wished the community God’s help in developing and strengthening parish life, and, in memory of his visit, donated an image of the Savior.
After the Liturgy, all guests were offered a festive meal.
