On October 28, Demetrius' Parental Saturday, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy and panikhida at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
Concelebrating with His Grace were Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the diocesan district of South-East England, clergy of the UOC temporarily staying on the territory of the Sourozh diocese, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and Deacon Viktor Nikiforov.
Liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
At the litany for the departed, the Archpastor offered prayers for all Orthodox Christians who have passed away from time immemorial.
At the end of the Liturgy, His Grace and the concelebrating clergy served a panikhida in the center of the church.
In conclusion, Bishop Matthew addressed those present with words of sermon and spiritual edification. Simultaneous translation into English was provided by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
