On April 27, 2019, on the Great Saturday, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh served Vespers with reading of 15 paremias and the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of the South-West of England, Priest Victor Akhryapin, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, Deacon Victor Nikiforov and Deacon Nil Lyubchenko.
The liturgical chants were sung by the choir of the Cathedral under the direction of Marina Bezmenova.
After the prayer before the ambo, His Grace blessed the bread and wine and addressed the congregation and the clergy of the Cathedral with words of edification.
At the end of the service, Vladyka Matthew congratulated Archpriest Joseph Skinner and his spouse Sarah Elizabeth Skinner with the 40th anniversary of their marriage and presented them with the Patriarchal commemorative medals "In memory of the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the Patriarchate in the Russian Orthodox Church".
