On October 15, 2019, a working meeting  between His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States and Canada, and Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Great Britain, Minister-Counsellor  Ivan Alekseevich Volodin, was held at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.

Vladyka Matthew acquainted Ivan Alekseevich with the shrines of the Cathedral, after which the parties discussed a wide range of issues representing mutual interest.
