« Archpastoral visit to the city of Truro »

On the 8th of November Bishop Elisey made an archpastoral visit to the parish of St. Cuthbert in Truro. His Grace celebrated the Divine Liturgy in a small church rented by the local community. St. Cuthbert’s is the most remote parish of the Diocese of Sourozh in South-West England.

During the Service His Grace was assisted by the Rector of the parish, Archpriest Fr Benedict Ramsden, Protodeacon Dmitry Nedostupenko of the Diocesan Cathedral in London and Deacon Peter Willis.

This tiny but cosy church on the outskirts of the city accommodated on that day not only the residents of Truro but also those from neighbouring towns and villages.

After the Liturgy His Grace served a memorial Litya for the military personnel who died in wars and other conflicts.

After the service Vladyka Elisey addressed the parish priest and the congregation with a few words of archpastoral guidance. In turn, Fr Benedict thanked His Grace for his visit and drew the congregation’s attention to the fact that the visit of the head of the Diocese of Sourozh is a significant event in the life of the parish, which will further the development and strengthening of the community.

The meeting with the Bishop continued over tea organized by the congregation.
