On the eve of the second Sunday of Great Lent, I appeal to all of you in connection with the difficult situation prevailing in the countries of the canonical territory of the Western European Patriarchal Exarchate.

The coronavirus, which affected many countries of the globe, continue its march around the world, and entered the doors of our common home, becoming not only the cause of serious illness, but also of tragic deaths.

New issue of Sourozh magazine has been published

A new 112th issue of Sourozh magazine was published in February 2020.

The diocesan publication begun in 1982 with the blessing of the ever-memorable Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom).  After a long break, its publication was resumed in 2009 by a newly formed editorial board headed by Archpriest Mikhail Dudko.

Statement of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh concerning the spread of coronavirus infection

Beloved in Christ Fathers, brothers and sisters!

In the Sourozh diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as throughout the world,  the continued spread of the disease associated with coronavirus infection is a cause of deep concern. In the UK and Ireland the clergy and faithful of the diocese are praying for the healing of the sick and for a speedy end to the epidemic. Due to the spread of the disease, I urge you to comply with all recommendations and orders of the authorities and strictly implement the relevant directives aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus.
