« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh Celebrated the Liturgy in Winchester »

On September 26, 2026, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh made an archpastoral visit to the newly established community of St. Swithin, Bishop of Winchester, in Winchester, Hampshire, where he celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
At the entrance to the ancient Church of the Holy Trinity, which is provided by the Anglican Diocese of Winchester for Orthodox services, the Archpastor was greeted by parishioners with bread and salt, and flowers.
Before the divine service, Bishop Matthew tonsured Jonathan Skeet as a reader.
At the Liturgy, His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-West England, Deacon Victor Nikiforov, and Deacon Nikolai Makarov.
The parish choir, directed by Mother Sarah Skinner, performed the liturgical hymns.
Following the Liturgy, Bishop Matthew addressed the clergy and faithful with words of sermon and spiritual edification. Archpriest Joseph Skinner translated the sermon into English.
