« The First Orthodox Liturgy Celebrated in Caterham »

On August 29, 2026, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, the first Orthodox Divine Liturgy was celebrated in Caterham, Surrey.
The divine service in the ancient Church of St. Lawrence, built in 1095, was celebrated by Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of Southwest England, and Priest Alexander Kapustin, a cleric of the Dormition Cathedral in London.
The liturgical hymns were performed by Mother Sarah Skinner and Marina Bezmenova-Nikolaou. Praying at the Liturgy were local Orthodox Christians and pilgrims from the Dormition Cathedral in London.
The next divine service will be celebrated on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Hours will begin at 9:00 AM, Divine Liturgy at 9:30 AM.
