« An Orthodox pilgrimage to the spring of St. Seiriol in Penmon »

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, a pilgrimage took place to the spring of St. Seiriol (6th century) in Penmon on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales.
The pilgrimage was led by Priest Anatoly Vikhrov, head of the Pilgrimage Department of the Diocese of Sourozh. Archimandrite Deiniol (Davies), Dean of the Diocesan District of Wales, and Priest Lazarus Jones also participated in the pilgrimage.
The Orthodox Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the ancient Church of St. Seiriol in Penmon, the oldest part of which dates back to the first half of the 12th century.
The liturgical hymns were performed by parish singers from the deaneries of the diocesan districts of Northern England and Wales.
The Liturgy was celebrated in three languages: Church Slavonic, English, and Welsh.
At the end of the divine service, Father Deiniol (Davies) told the pilgrims about the ascetic labors of St. Seiriol of Penmon and the relics associated with the life of this saint of the ancient undivided Church.
A procession with the cross followed to St. Seiriol's spring, where a moleben of blessing the waters was served.
Finally, the pilgrims shared a common meal in a picturesque spot on the seashore, not far from the spring and the church of St. Seiriol.
