« The premiere screening of a film about a diocesan children's camp was held at Dormition Cathedral in London »

On Sunday, June 7, 2026, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, a screening of the documentary film "The Big Walk" was held at Dormition Cathedral in London.
The film tells the story of the Orthodox children's summer camp of the Diocese of Sourozh, named after St. Seraphim of Sarov. Since 2008, the camp has been held annually in Gloucestershire and welcomes Orthodox children and teenagers aged 9 to 17, not only from parishes of the Diocese of Sourozh but also from other countries. Over the years, the camp has become a place for spiritual, creative, and friendly fellowship, uniting participants of different nationalities and cultures around the Orthodox faith.
Following the screening, a meeting with the film's creators took place. Director Artem Barkun, producer Jess Stenstrom, and the camp's organizers and directors, Archpriest Stefan Platt and Matushka Anna Platt, answered numerous questions from the audience. Participants were interested in the film's creation history, the specifics of camp life, and the current development of the Orthodox children's mission in the British Isles.
The youth group of the Dormition Cathedral helped organize the event, assisting with the preparation and hosting of the screening, as well as with the guests' interactions over tea before and after the meeting.
