« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Matins of Good Friday with the reading of the Twelve Passion Gospels »

On the evening of April 9, 2026, the eve of the Friday of Holy Week, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Matins of Good Friday with the reading of the Twelve Gospels of the Holy Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ at the Dormition Cathedral in London.

The cathedral choir, directed by Dmitry Tugarinov, performed the Good Friday hymns.

During the service, before the Cross of the Lord which was placed in the center of the church, the clergy read the Twelve Gospels, which recount the suffering and death of the Savior.

At the end of Matins, the faithful venerated the Cross depicting the Crucifixion of Christ.

The sermon was delivered by Archpriest Nikita Kozlov.
