On April 10, 2026, on Good Friday, the remembrance of the Holy and Saving Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated Vespers with the transferal of the Shroud of the Savior in the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Archpriest Nikita Kozlov, Priest Vasily Gandzyuk, Priest Alexander Kapustin, Priest Sergiy Sokolovsky, Priest Nektariy Baska, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, and Deacon Nikolai Makarov.
The liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
At the end of Vespers, while singing the troparion "Noble Joseph, from the tree I took down Your Most Pure Body", the Holy Shroud with the image of the burial of Christ was transferred from the altar to the centre of the church.
The sermon at the Shroud was delivered by Archpriest Nikita Kozlov.
Then Bishop Matthew celebrated the small compline, at which the canon "On the Crucifixion of the Lord and the Lamentation of the Most Holy Theotokos" was read.
At the end of the service, the faithful venerated the Holy Shroud with the image of the burial of Christ.
