Bishop Matthew of Sourozh ordained Deacon Sergei Sokolovsky to the priesthood »

On March 22, 2026, on the Fourth Sunday of Great Lent, the feast day of St. John of the Ladder and of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste, during the Divine Liturgy in Dormition Cathedral in London, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh ordained Deacon Sergei Sokolovsky, a cleric of the parish of All Saints in the Land of Britain and Ireland in Birmingham, to the priesthood.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, in his address to the newly ordained Priest Sergei, wished him God's help in his upcoming pastoral service and presented him with the Kazan Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos and a holy prosphora.
During his liturgical practice, Father Sergei will serve as a priest at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
