« Bishop Matthew of Sourozh' pilgrimage to the birthplace of St. Bridget of Kildare (c. 452) »

On January 10, 2026, while on an archpastoral visit to the Republic of Ireland, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh made a pilgrimage to the holy spring and birthplace of one of Ireland's most venerated saints of the Undivided Church - St. Bridget, Abbess of Kildare (c. 452-525) - in Faughart, County Louth.

The Archpastor and people, who accompanied him, served a short moleben at St. Bridget's spring and prayed opposite the chapel at her birthplace.

Archpriest Mikhail Nasonov, Dean of the Diocesan District of Ireland, led a tour of the pilgrimage complex and spoke about the history of St. Bridget's cross and the life of the saint.
