On the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy in the Dormition Cathedral in London »

On August 28, 2025, on the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of Our Lord and the Virgin Mary, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh led the patronal celebration in the Dormition Cathedral in London.

During the Divine Liturgy, His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the Diocesan District of South-East England Archpriest Vitaly Polischuk, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh Archpriest Dmitry Nedostupenko, Archpriest Nikita Kozlov, Priest Sergiy Fedorenko, Priest Vasily Gandzyuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of Scotland Priest Alexander Menshikov, Priest Alexander Kapustin, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, Protodeacon Ioann Sylnik and Deacon Viktor Nikiforov.

The liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.

After the Divine Liturgy, a religious procession with the venerated icon of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos took place to the cathedral square.

On the occasion of the patronal feast, the deacons proclaimed the solemn many years.

At the end of the service, Bishop Matthew addressed the clergy and parishioners with an archpastoral word. Simultaneous translation into English was provided by Protodeacon Vadim Santsevtich.

All those present in the church were offered a festive treat.
