On December 6, 2025, following the Divine Liturgy in the Dormition Cathedral in London, the Diocesan Assembly of the Diocese of Sourozh was held.
Clergy, parish church wardens, representatives of diocesan communities, and trustees of the diocese participated in the meeting, chaired by Bishop Matthew of Sourozh.
Following a discussion of procedural matters, the participants elected a deputy chair, a secretary, and two translators for the duration of the meeting.
The main report was delivered by His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh.
The meeting heard reports from the heads of the diocesan departments: Archpriest Stephen Platt, the Department of Inter-Christian Relations, on inter-Christian dialogue and on relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Church of England; The Pilgrimage Committee, headed by Priest Anatoly Vikhrov who reported on past pilgrimages and plans for the next year; the Religious Education Committee, headed by E.N. Poplavskaya who reported on the activities of diocesan parish schools.
Reports on the annual conference of the Sourozh Diocese, headed by Archpriest Joseph Skinner, and the diocesan children's camp, headed by Archpriest Stefan Platt, were also presented.
Diocesan Treasurer A.F. Bardakov presented a report on the financial situation in the diocese.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Bishop Matthew presented certificates of completion for distance theological courses from the Moscow Theological Academy.
