On November 18, 2025, the feast day of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' (elected to the Patriarchal Throne in 1917) and St. Hilarion, the Recluse of Troyekurovо (+1853), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England.
The liturgical hymns were performed by Dmitry Tugarinov, choir master of Dormition Cathedral.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, a prayerful hymn to St. Hilarion was offered, after which Bishop Matthew delivered a sermon.
Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, addressed the Archpastor with a welcoming speech, noting that it was on this day 16 years ago that Bishop Matthew, as a priest, arrived to Britain to serve as a pastor in the Sourozh Diocese. Father Dimitry warmly congratulated the Archpastor on this significant date and presented him with a holy prosphora.
