« On the eve of the 19th Sunday after Pentecost, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the all-night vigil at Dormition Cathedral in London »

On the evening of October 18, 2025, on the eve of the 17th Sunday after Pentecost, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the all-night vigil at Dormition Cathedral in London.

His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the Diocesan District of South East England; Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh; Archpriest Nikita Kozlov; Priest Alexander Kapustin; Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch; and Protodeacon Ioann Sylnik.

The Cathedral Choir, under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov, performed the liturgical hymns. During the polyeleos, a reliquary containing great Christian relics - a particle of the Life-giving Cross of the Lord, the Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos, and particles of the holy relics of God's chosen saints - was brought from the altar to the center of the church.

At Matins, after the Gospel reading, Bishop Matthew anointed the clergy and worshipers with holy oil.

During the all-night vigil, His Grace Vladyka granted Dimitris Karailias, a church employee, the right to wear the sticharion.
