Moscow Theological Academy Opens Admissions for 2026/2027 English Online Theology Program »

The Moscow Theological Academy (MThA) has officially commenced its admissions campaign for the remote theological program in English for the 2026/2027 academic year.

This international distance-learning course offers an opportunity for English-speaking students globally to receive systematic training in Orthodox theology from the historic center of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The course spans one academic year (9 months) and is conducted entirely online. The educational framework integrates structured digital lectures by the MThA faculty board with guided independent study. Students will engage with eleven foundational subjects of the traditional Orthodox theological curriculum:

* Holy Scripture of the Old Testament and New Testament
* Fundamental, Dogmatic, Comparative, and Ethical Theology
* Patrology and Liturgics
* History of the Christian Church and the Russian Orthodox Church
* History of Religions

Upon the successful completion of all coursework and the final examinations, graduates will be awarded a standardized official certificate issued by the Moscow Theological Academy. The program is specifically structured to meet the needs of clergy and active church workers serving in foreign parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church who already hold a secular higher education degree.

Additionally, enrollment is open to all international students and individuals who wish to develop a deep, academic understanding of Orthodox doctrine and church traditions.

The final deadline for submitting applications to the admissions committee is September 21, 2026, at 09:00 AM (Moscow time). Detailed information regarding the enrollment process, technical requirements, and academic schedules can be found on the official resources:
