On the day of the 1038th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus, the parishes of the Sourozh Diocese joined the church-wide bell ringing of "Glory to Thee, God!" »

On July 28, 2026 - the feast day of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir and the 1038th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus' - festive divine services were held in the parishes of the Diocese of Sourozh. With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' and the Right Reverend Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, the "Glory to Thee, O God!" bell-ringing resounded at the Dormition Cathedral in London and at parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate across Great Britain and Ireland. This festive peal is traditionally performed at noon local time in all Orthodox churches and monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Following the Divine Liturgy, solemn thanksgiving services were celebrated in the churches according to a special rite, after which the clergy addressed the parishioners with sermons dedicated to the feast.

Since 2012, this tradition of simultaneous bell-ringing - marking the anniversary of the Baptism of Rus' and serving as a call to corporate church prayer - has united millions of Orthodox believers living within the canonical territory of the Moscow Patriarchate and in countries near and far abroad.
