On Sunday, May 3, 2026, the Fourth Sunday after Pascha, the Sunday of the Paralytic, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States and Canada, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in San Francisco.
At the entrance to the church, Matushka Alla and the cathedral treasurer, V. N. Pustylnik, greeted the Archpastor with bread and salt, and flowers.
The Archpastor was assisted by the Dean of the church, Priest Mikhail Kozyrev, the sacristan of the church and the Dean of the Western States.
Following the divine service, Priest Mikhail warmly congratulated the Archpastor on the Bright Resurrection of Christ and thanked His Grace for his visit and continued attention to the life of the cathedral.
Bishop Matthew, in turn, addressed the congregation with a sermon commemorating the Lord's healing of the paralytic at the Sheep Pool.
His Grace commended Father Mikhail and his assistants for their diligent efforts in establishing parish life at St. Nicholas Cathedral and expressed gratitude for organizing the archpastoral visit to the parishes of the deanery.
In recognition of his labours for the good of the Holy Church and his active support for the parish, Bishop Matthew awarded Reader Viktor Minakov the right to wear the orarion. A number of church workers were also awarded episcopal blessing certificates.
During the fraternal luncheon, His Grace discussed pressing issues of the daily life of the Patriarchal Cathedral with the sacristan, church leaders, and parishioners.
