With the blessing of Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, a pilgrimage to the bishop's metochion of the Holy Martyr Grand Duchess Elizabeth in Rock's Farm, near Bodiam, took place on May 25, 2026.
Students, parents and teachers from St. Elizabeth's Parish School of Dormition Cathedral in London participated in the pilgrimage. Archpriest Nikita Kozlov led the pilgrimage.
The pilgrimage was the final part of the school's annual project dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the birth of St. Nicholas of Japan (Kasatkin). Upon arrival, the pilgrims were greeted by the senior sister of the metochion, Nun Martha (Persianinova). Archpriest Nikita served a moleben before a particle of the holy relics of St. Nicholas of Japan, donated to the Sourozh Diocese by the Resurrection Cathedral in Tokyo (Nikolai-do).
Following the moleben, those present learned about the life of the Apostle of Japan. The sisterhood of the metochion organized a meal for the pilgrims, after which the participants went to the spring of St. Helen, where a moleben was served.
The pilgrims expressed gratitude to the Rector of the metochion, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, for his support in organising the pilgrimage and for the warm welcome extended by Mother Martha and her assistants.
