On December 27, 2025, the feast day of St. John of Sezenovo (of Tambov), Fool-for-Christ (+14/27 December 1839), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Nikita Kozlov and Deacon Nektary Baska.
The service was conducted by priestly order. During the post-communion verse, Bishop Matthew granted the cathedral altar server Pavel Bogdanov the right to wear a cassock.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, His Grace the Archpastor performed a prayerful magnification before the icon of St. Ioann, the Recluse of Sezenovo, and addressed those present with a sermon and spiritual edification, recounting the life of the saint, venerated in the Synaxis of Saints of Voronezh, Lipetsk, and Tambov.
