On November 7, 2025, while on an archpastoral visit to the diocesan district of the Republic of Ireland, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh visited Archpriest Nikolai Kobets, who is undergoing treatment at a clinic in Roscommon, Connacht.
His Grace administered Holy Communion to Father Nikolai, brought from Dublin by Archpriest Mikhail Nasonov, Dean of the district, and spoke with the priest, who has served in the parishes of the Sourozh Diocese in Ireland since 2011.
Bishop Matthew wished Father Nikolai God's help in his treatment and a speedy recovery.
