On October 9, 2021, on the day of the repose of the Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian (beginning of the II century), His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Parish of All Saints of Wales in the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, located in the north of Wales. His Grace was assisted by Rector of the church, Hegumen Daniel (Davis), Dean of the Diocesan District of South-West England archpriest Joseph Skinner and cleric of the parish of All British and Irish Saints in Birmingham deacon Sergey Sokolovsky.
The liturgical hymns were sung by the chamber choir conducted by Sarah Skinner.
Upon the dismissal of the Liturgy, the Right Reverend Archpastor addressed words of spiritual edification and greetings to the clergy and the laity gathered for the service, noting the recent joyful event - the return of the Rector and parishioners of the Welsh community to the bosom of the Russian Orthodox Church.
In turn, Father Daniel warmly thanked His Grace Vladyka for his archpastoral visit and paternal care and presented Vladyka Matthew with books on the history of the Church in Wales and the lives of the Welsh saints.
After the service, Vladyka Matthew talked with the parishioners of the church.
